Anadolu Efes successfully completed the first phase of the Data Center Optimization Project
Anadolu Efes focuses on in-house sustainable efficiency
Anadolu Efes Business Solutions Technology (BST) Directorate successfully completed the first phase of the Data Center Optimization Project managed within the context of its Information Technology Transformation program. With this project, Anadolu Efes achieved performance increase and cost saving alongside reduction in CO² footprint as a result of its improvement projects; preventing the atmospheric emission of carbon dioxide equivalent to the amount sequestered by approximately 120 trees throughout their lifespan.
Achieving performance increase and cost saving as a result of the first phase of the Data Center Optimization Project, Anadolu Efes also contributed to preserving the environment and its sustainability projects. By turning off the in-house server cooling systems with high energy consumption, the atmospheric emission of carbon dioxide equivalent to the amount sequestered by approximately 120 trees throughout their lifespan was prevented.
Anadolu Efes Business Solutions Technology Directorate, conveying business solutions applications to virtual servers by turning off technologically out-of-date physical servers with its Data Center Optimization Project, Anadolu Efes Business Solutions Technology Directorate examined its server inventory and set-up a transition plan under the leadership of the project team comprising Anadolu Efes BST and Anadolu Bilişim experts. In accordance with this project, 17% of all servers such as the mailing system, database and file servers were consolidated and positioned in the infrastructure of the virtual server of Anadolu Bilişim Data Center together with other business applications. Thus, savings were achieved in operational costs and the performance requirements of applications were met without investing in new servers and additional equipment.
Continuing its optimization projects constantly, Anadolu Efes Business Solutions Technology Directorate will resume considering the importance of performance increase that will aid the enhancement of efficiency in business processes, the optimization of investment and operational costs as well as activities and projects centered on increasing in-house sustainability awareness and environmental protection and sustainability projects.
